Combating climate change is a strategic goal of IMH. The company uses all available technologies in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2021, calculations of greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint were carried out at IMH plants in accordance with international standards (including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions). German company TUV NORD CERT GmbH verified the methods and confirmed the results.
Following the adoption of a unified environmental programme, IMH will proceed with the development of climate strategy. The document will be in line with the Climate Doctrine of the Russian Federation as well as international agreements on climate change. The long-term goal of the developed programme is the gradual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, followed by carbon-neutral production. This document will reflect all areas of climate action, include the results of greenhouse gas emission inventories, and describe mitigation measures such as reducing fossil fuel consumption, increasing energy efficiency, and introducing innovative decarburization solutions.
