POLEMA and the Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences have concluded an Agreement on development of new alloys based on refractory materials
The powder metallurgy plant POLEMA (a part of Industrial Metallurgical Holding) and the Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISSP RAS) signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of development of new alloys based on refractory metals.
The agreement provides for joint fundamental research and applied works in the field of powder metallurgy and refractory metals. Cooperation between POLEMA and ISSP RAS will be aimed at the introduction into industrial production of new high-purity materials based on tungsten and molybdenum and their products, which will be used in such high-tech industries as medical equipment and electronics. In addition, the joint development will allow POLEMA to improve production efficiency.
Dmitry Martynov, POLEMA JSC Managing director, commented on signing of the agreement: “A very important event for POLEMA took place today. We have joined forces with the leading institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and hope that we will be able to create breakthrough technologies and high-quality materials, allowing the company to strengthen its position in the global market”.
