Medical exams at the mine

18 July 2011

Belgorod Oblast, Gubkin, OAO KMAruda Works. Specialists from the F.F. Erisman Federal Scientific Center for Hygiene have conducted a medical examination of employees at the Gubkin mine.

In accordance with Federal Law No. 83 of the RF Ministry for Health and Social Development, people employed at high-risk jobs and at jobs with harmful and/or dangerous production factors for five or more years must undergo periodic medical examinations to check for employment-based pathology. In June, such an examination was held at JSC KMAruda Works by specialists from the F. F. Erisman Federal Scientific Center for Hygiene.

The medical examination was undergone by 124 mine employees who work underground: operators of drilling rigs, electric locomotives, tanker loading units, and blast furnace complexes, shaftmen, blasthole drillers, timbermen, and other professions. Of these, 24 have worked under high-risk conditions from 10 to 25 years, and are being actively monitored by specialists from the F. F. Erisman Scientific Center for Hygiene.
