Kombinat KMAruda has become WWF rating leader
Kombinat KMAruda, JSC, a part of Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH), entered the top three mining and metallurgical companies in Russia in terms of the Environmental Impact indicator.
The study was initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the United Nations Environment Program and the National Rating Agency.
Specific air emissions, specific water consumption, recycled waste share, excess payments for negative impact on the environment and other indicators were used as evaluation criteria.
Kombinat KMAruda is recognized as one of the most effective enterprises in Russia in the field of nature protection. The plant has a unique technology of laying waste rock into the mine’s chambers and a closed loop water circulation system. The company’s environmental management system is certified according to the international standard ISO 14001: 2015.
The enterprises’ Environmental impact study was carried out in the framework of ranking the openness of Russian leading mining and metallurgical companies in the field of ecological responsibility. 34 companies participated in the study.
